Summary:
With oversight and direction of the Partner, this position is responsible for successful delivery of tax compliance engagements by leading all aspects of the tax planning, preparation, and review process of all tax engagements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Lead engagement teams and work with Partners providing day-to-day management of accounting services to clients.
· Identify effective tax solutions for new and existing clients in various industries.
· Conduct complex tax research to support client’s tax compliance and reporting.
· Mentor and develop engagement teams providing leadership, counseling, and career guidance.
· Manages department with emphasis on success.
· Identify value-added opportunities for new and existing clients.
· Manage and grow a portfolio of clients.
· Assist with drafting and presenting proposals to new and existing clients.
- Provide tax data for clients and third-party professionals.
- Prepare tax reports, correspondence, and research memoranda.
· Performs final review of all tax workpapers and returns and ensures that all review comments are cleared prior to filing.
· Creates, plans, and budgets for tax engagements and ensures completion of engagements within a defined timeline.
· Develop a positive presence in the community by representing the Firm.
· Become a recognized expert in their area and is the “go to person” in the Firm for specific transactions.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience with Tax planning, preparation, and review of all tax engagements.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in MS Office and tax management software.
- Excellent managerial, organizational, and negotiation skills.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field, required.
- CPA license, required.
- 10+ years of experience in public accounting tax experience
- Minimum of 2-3 years as Tax Manager experience; 6 years of supervisory experience.
Physical/Mental/Visual Demands and Work Environment:
· This job is conducted in an office work environment, sitting most of the time, working on a computer.
· Must be able to exert up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally.
· Some travel may be required.
Work Schedule:
· Typically, Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm.
· Additional hours are required during peak season.
